I advertised for an exterior house painting job, house eves, fascia and guttering. I received six expressions of interest, and four companies agreed to provide quotes. The scope of work expanded by my agreement from what had originally been proposed however all four companies were given the same scope. Of these four, two were verbal quotes and two were written quotes. One of the verbal quotes was very low, and the other was a "go away" price and far too high.
